About the event
Scouts can cast a line, enjoy time outside with friends and family, and compete for fun awards like Biggest Catch, Smallest Catch, Most Fish Caught, and Most Patient Angler.
No fishing experience is required, and families do not need fancy gear to participate. A simple child-sized rod and reel, along with basic bait like bread, corn, or worms, is often enough to get started.
The Fishing Tournament is less about being an expert angler and more about slowing down, spending time together outdoors, and making memories as a Pack. And siblings are welcome to join!
What Families Can Expect
Families can expect a casual morning of fishing, friendly competition, outdoor fun, and plenty of time to cheer each other on.
The event typically includes:
- Time to arrive and set up
- A designated tournament period
- Awards for several fun fishing categories
- Time to relax, wind down, and help clean up together
Event details, including the date, time, location, parking information, and what to bring, are shared with Pack families before each year’s tournament.
What Should We Bring?
Keep it simple. Depending on your child's age, a basic child-sized rod and reel is perfectly fine. Bread, corn, or worms can all work well as bait.
Families may also want to bring water, sunscreen, bug spray, folding chairs, and anything else that will help everyone stay comfortable by the pond.
Come Fish With Us
Whether your Scout catches the biggest fish, the smallest fish, the most fish, or nothing at all, there is still plenty of fun to be had by the pond.
Do your best. Have fun doing it.
